Along with fire protection codes referenced within the East Whiteland Township
Building Code, Electrical Code and Property Maintenance Code, the Board of
Supervisors has adopted NFPA 1 - The Fire Prevention Code, 1997 Edition, of the
National Fire Protection Association with local amendments as supplemented,
reissued, amended, revised and updated by the NFPA. Permit applications can be
downloaded from this site. Applications also may be requested via phone, fax or
e-mail. Applications will be sent to you promptly. The inspections required in
conjunction with issued permits can be scheduled only by contacting the office
directly, (610) 648-0600. Do not attempt to schedule an inspection through the
voice mail system!
Fees charged by the Township for various permits are
listed in the East Whiteland Township Fee Schedule. This should be used only as
a guide. If you have any questions, please contact the office.
Fees must be paid at the time the application is submitted. Permit fee balances
must be paid prior to the release of the permit.
The average
time for permit processing is three weeks. Processing time may be longer or
shorter depending on workload, project complexity, clarity of the project,
completeness of the application and unforeseen backlog of the department.
A copy of the Fire Protection Code, NFPA 1, 1997 Edition, of the National Fire
Protection Association with local amendments as supplemented, reissued, amended,
revised and updated by the NFPA is available by appointment at the Municipal
Building. Please note that these Codes cannot be copied in whole or in part due
to copyright protection. To order any of these Codes, contact the National Fire
Protection Association at
